Sonoma County, the inspiration behind the image.

Stephen moved to Sonoma County in 1997. He was so taken by the color and the landscape. He was reminded of all his favorite places in Europe and soon felt at home. In 1998 he had a purpose built art studio in the garden of the family property. It wasn’t long after moving there that he started to be inspired towards bold and more loosely composed images as well as going bigger. California does that… He started to experiment with serigraph templates as the base. A bright colorful painting emerged using acrylic inks, oil pastels and gold foil. Stephen’s outer world came alive on the paper.
